    Volunteer Coaches Needed!

Thank you in advance for being a hero to the kids in our program! Without you, our league wouldn’t exist. If you want to volunteer as a coach, please fill out this form. Bonus: your child plays for free!

    What is the time commitment?

You will be preparing and running team training sessions, so set aside about 4 hours per week. We will provide free pre-season coaching clinics to help you get confident and trained. In addition, we will support you throughout the season with sample training sessions and a curriculum that will help you structure your season. We are all in this together, so you are not alone! The league will give you a basic coaching package before your first training session which includes cones and training bibs/pennies. If you would like more detailed information on coaching, please contact us and we’ll be happy to answer any questions.

    When does registration open?

Registration is now open! All registration is done online.

    When does registration close?

Registration closes February 23 and waitlists are formed. There are no guarantees your child will be placed on a team after that date.

When will I know who my coach is and what team my child is on?

As soon as your team has been assigned a coach, you will receive a Team Snap email invitation. Coach contact information will be listed on the Team Snap roster.

    How are team placements made?

Considerable effort is made to balance the teams and provide competition that is enjoyable to both players and parents alike. Players are randomly placed on teams using a computer program!  No buddy requests/coach requests in the spring.

How many practices and games are there and where are the practices?

Each team will typically practice once or twice per week. Depending on their work or personal schedules, coaches usually pick the best day, time and location that will fit into their schedule. Typically practices last 1 hour. Games are played on Saturdays starting 8am and ending as late as 2pm. A midweek game under the lights or Friday Night games may be hosted for U8 and older kids.

What do I need to buy for practices and games?

Your child will need shin guards, socks to cover them and soccer cleats. You will also need a soccer ball. Size 3 ball: U4 and U6. Size 4 ball: U8, U10 and U12, Size 5 ball: U14 and up.

I would like to be a coach, assistant coach, or team parent. What should I do?

Firstly, THANK YOU! The success of our program depends on the spirit and energy of our volunteers. We need coaches, assistants and team parents! If you would like to volunteer as a coach or assistant coach please click on this link. No experience is necessary, we will train you! All new Head and Assistant Coaches must go through a Risk Management Program (background check). Coaches will also be required to attend preseason meetings, take an informal club organized referee course, and referee ONE game during the first two weeks of the season.

I would like to volunteer for the league. How can I help?

There are many ways for parents to help. This is a community organization and we want everyone involved. City SC Rec is run by a large group of volunteers. We invite you to join us for a fun experience assuring a great season for our kids. Some volunteer positions start and finish before the season starts, some may last the season, and some positions involve simply one event. If you are interested in volunteering please contact us.

Do you have an All-Star program?

Yes, for the fall competitive season – not for the spring.
